A fine American Wheat beer has a large proportion of malted wheat with cloudy appearance. Also has a little more hop bite than its German cousin making it a spritzy, refreshing and sessionable crowd -pleaser.

This one is a clouded deep yellow color. A soft, fluffy white head sticks around for a good while and leaves moderate lacing in its wake.
Wheat is detectable on the nose, followed by a gentle citrus zest note and hops underneath. A touch of bubblegum typical to the style is present. The aroma is sturdy, but it could be stronger.
The flavor is a good balance between the grains and a stronger than typical hops presence for the style. Malted wheat is evident and makes for a sturdy backbone, and a lemony zest lingers throughout.
Carbonation is moderate, very well suited to the flavor and style. This one's nice and crisp, "spritzy," as the description goes, yet somehow smooth. Body is on the light side of medium.
This is a very nice APWA, sessionable and plenty drinkable.

Sample at the brewpub: Clear dark gold color with a minimal white head and sparse lacing. Wheat aroma is difficult to detect but it is there, along with a bit of bubblegum. Light and clean mouthfeel with wheat and hops flavors, along with a fair amount of malt backbone. The finish is wheaty and lingering. Actually pretty good.
