Stadtbrauerei Schwarzenberg Honey Ale
,3l glass for €3,00 at the brewpub on 3 January 2014
Notes: Hazy deep amber body beneath a slightly off-white head. Very good head retention and OK lacing. Honey and malt in the nose with a little yeast behind. Slightly caramelish. The flavor offers lots of honey upfront, and then much more in the finish. Full bodied but crisp. Sweet, sticky finish despite a noticeable bitterness that I would call 'somewhat firm'. Almost, or perhaps yes, a dessert beer. Overall: Charming, interesting, fulfilling.
