Served in 12oz goblet. Poured a solid black color with about 1/4 inch of tan head that had low retention and no lacing.
The aroma had a basic grainy malt scent with a slight roast note in the background. On the tongue the roast really dominated, overpowering the nice grains. The flavors didn't meld well, and there an increasingly bitter finish.
While mostly clean, that bitter finish detracted from the body, which was noticeably fuller than I prefer in the style. Drinkability was OK, despite the the strong roast. Overall, a nice enough brew, and one probably worth trying if you see it.
