Notes: A fantastic example of a German Marzen. This malty lager is smooth, yet has a character backed by a 5.6% alcohol by volume. Bottle conditioned in a 22oz. bottle, Glacier Chaser is best when served in a imperial pint glass. Pour it gently to avoid rousing the yeast bed, yet be sure to induce a big head. The thick creamy head will retain throughout the entire life of the pint.

From the 16 oz can packaged 08/07/18. Sampled on September 19, 2018.

The color is a lighter amber tone compared to some Marzens. Bubbly carbonation leading up to the lingering white, foamy head.

The aroma emits some nice breaded malt sweetness and a little bit of honey to add character. Low hop profile.

Light and sticky body.

Forward sweet malt flavor with some honey sweetness underneath. The finish is mildly dry and ends quickly.

Filled my growler at the Whitefish Oktoberfest (awesome, by the way). Poured into a weizen glass. Reviewed live.

A- One finger dark cream-color head. Long retention. Watery appearance with a nice cherry-brown color. High clarity for a medium-dark beer. Nice looking.

S- Caramel and raisins. Dates maybe. Malty, sweet and just the right amount of hops. Opens up as it warms into dried sweet fruits. Really a nice complex brew and the top I've smelled of the style.

T- Sweet, marshmallow-y. Grapes, caramel malts, earthy (but quiet) hop character. Some bread tones as well. Subdued by very tasty and highly, highly drinkable. I could quaff this like a ...thing which quaffs.

M- Medium bodied, creamy and wet with a twinge of a dry linger. Nice feel.

O- Best I've had of the style. Wish I had another growler full.

22oz bomber with no freshness date.

Clear weather copper color, active carbonation is keeping the head more than just alive it is dropping some stellar rings of lacing on the glass with each sip. Malty aroma of bread crust, dried hay, grape skin and a little biscuity. Very deep smoothness within the medium body. Big malty palate, no sweet but very malty. Dried hay, toasted bread, a little bit of flour and husk and a hint of grape-nut cereal. Hops are where they should be, modest to the point of not blocking the malt yet enough to know it is there to stay. Mild sting of bitterness and mellow herbal flavor. Dry-ish finish with a nuttiness from the yeast yet even in the end everything still is clean all around.

Impressive, a bottle conditioned Marzen ... love it. Drinkability is through the roof and just enough complexity with the malt to keep things interesting.
