500ml bottle poured into a wine glass. No head at all as per many in the style.
Aroma is vanilla, oak and a hint of whisky warmth on the finish.
According to the label. It’s brewed from 100% Scottish barley malt and water from their ancient brewery then matured on oak.
Overall, Quarkus is a smooth, sort of complex beer sophisticated yet approachable. This is Scotland and they have a thing for whisky.

Bottle. Brewed for Morrison's. Light amber. Effervescent but with a limited head.
Mild caramel malt aroma. Hint of vanilla (as labelled).
The oak comes through upon tasting.
Not much carbonation on the tongue despite the bubbles. Light in body.
Not one to write home about.
