Brown color, with ruby reflexes. Quite abundant foam, very creamy, compact. Not bad.
Malty smell, plus a good musky and earthly hop, fresh-cut grass.
Malt in the taste, lightly caramel. Crystal. Again musky notes. Sometimes the malt tends to candy sugar.
Quite dry finish. Nuts.
Average body, slightly oily.
Hazelnut aftertaste, and again earthly hop.

I purchased this one from an Italian grocery store. It pours a deep, murkey brown color with a moderate head. Beautiful lace. The aroma is a mix of alcohol, grain, malt, and caramel. There's a bit of burnt sugar in there as well. This brew is quite a bit drier than the other Belhaven product's I've had. It presents a nice warming, a full body, and a little chaulkiness. The flavor is full of malt, and is notably roasted. Little hops, and this is not a bitter beer at all. Fantastic.
