I got this from my girlfriend. I poured it into a pint glass.
Appearance: The body is a transparent yet light amber color. The head is a light tan color, three fingers tall, silky looking, great retention and lacing.
Smell: The aromas are boozy, cherry and grapes.
Taste: The flavors are woody, cherry and cardboard.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is fizzy.
Drinkability: This beer is pretty drinkable.

This beer is still being produced, NOT discontinued. Coming in a 500ml brown bottle, filtered and pasteurised. BB 02/2010, served cool in a straight imperial pint glass.
A: pours a brown-ish dark amber hue, coming with a really tight off-white frothy head with superb retention, on top of a constant input of fine carbonation.
S: sweet orangey fruity hops come on top of a rather sweet caramely and lightly sour yeasty malt backbone, while a sweet edge of fat, dried red dates. Malty and fruity, in a smooth harmony.
T: a deepening flavour of pale and crystal malts with really fine, even gristy malt aroma fills the palate, laced by hints of caramelised dark fruits and a lightly sour tinge of yeastiness; in the aftertaste, the malt aroma lasts well and is underlined by a semi-dry, but not quite bitter, palate that is slightly herbal (like ground root-licorice) and spicy even - supposedly the work of hops. Surprisingly, just as all's wrapped up, a mildly sour, unique tinge of what usually comes with Greene King's ales is hidden at the tail, which I suspect might be to do with the yeast strains introduced by the Essex owner of this Scottish brewery?
M&D: the carbonation comes slightly spritzy upfront, but not hampering the overall performance too much; this is a medium-bodied, well-made, malty ale with a decent balancer provided by the fruity hops. An easy-drinking ale all round, but NOT complex.

Smell Bready undertones compliment the lightly-toasted malt. The scotch fragrance is there as well, along with table sugar and a balancing citrus hop.
Taste This is nice. The scotch flavor comes out significantly, and the hops are bigger at the tongue. The lightly-toasted malts are refreshing due to the hop balance, and the sugars give this ale a lot of different flavors.
Mouthfeel Almost no carbonation and a refreshing pallet gives this light-bodied ale a nice mouthfeel.
Drinkability This is a nice ale that went down well.
