Trying this beer at Balti Indian Restaurant in Perth. The Mild poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent has faint hints of biscuit. The taste is light crisp and clean....slight wine like flare...very easy to drink. The Mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's decent.

Appearance - 3.0
Pours a finger of white head that rapidly reduced to a thin layer over a straw coloured body that is ever so slightly hazy.
Smell - 3.5
Smells like a slightly muted Redback Original - bubblegum, citrus, a whisper of banana and baked white bread.
Taste - 3.5
Very similar to Redback Original, only lighter. Wheat malt sweetness is there, along with lemon and a little bubblegum. Hops and bitterness barely register (as they shouldn't), and the finish is clean with little lingering flavour.
Mouthfeel - 3.0
This is where the difference between the mild and the original is most obvious. Very gassy and bloating, small bubbles feel harsh and stinging over the tongue. Still goes down easily though.
Drinkability - 4.0
Not for conossieurs, but still an easy drinking wheat beer.
OVERALL - 3.4
I'm surprised how much I liked this beer. I wouldn't buy it again for myself, but would have no trouble recommending it to someone looking for something tasty and mid-strength. A surprisingly worthwhile creation from Matilda Bay.
