Almost black. Average foam, tending to a beige color.
In the smell the roast malt prevails. Notes of cocoa and coffee, maybe even some cocoa butter.
The taste is roasted in the beginning, then a come back of cocoa and coffee, quite strong.
Average body.
Same for the aftertaste, with some more raisins and roots. Quite long.

Bar Volo in Toronto. Pours a dark colour, like the night's sky with some purple hues in the light. Spotty lacing and a big head, half of which would stay the course. Great responsive carbonation. A chocolaty, nutty aroma. Like a rich coffee, expresso you would have after dessert. Some slight pinching alcohol in the aroma. Flavour highlights a nice balance of brown malts and caramel roast amber malts. Some yeast evident. Flavour, at times, reminscent of a true Irish stout. Very impressed by this Italian offering.

Bar Volo. A dark beer with off-white head. A bit of chocolate malt, otherwise astringent sourish with some malting offset though not bitter. The roastedness added to the astringency and I suppose it cries for lasagna accompaniment. Relatively Good aroma though.
