From a growler obtained at the brewery. Sampled on August 31, 2013.
It pours a dark golden color with little no head and low carbonation. Slight haze.
On the nose there are German biscuit malts and low hop profile but the kind the smells clean and crisp.
The body is light to medium with a slight creaminess.
The taste begins with routine toasted biscuit but then there is a slightly more omnipresent hop bitterness on the backside and it ends dry overall. Not what I would choose first in my Octoberfests but it has something that is likable.
