A wonderfully malty lager with aromas reminiscent of toasted bread, baked crackers and caramel; flavors that are rich without being sweet.
A fall classic, Märzen is traditionally brewed for Oktoberfest and it is a fan-favorite here at SBC. Recent 2018 World Beer Cup Silver Medal winner.

From a twelve ounce can (the can art has a mountain biker in front of an autumn moon, flanked by orange fall-colored trees). The beer is a somewhat hazy copper color with an off-white head that quickly fades. The taste is lightly malty, with maybe a bit of grain as well. The taste has a streak of hop bitterness that could be toned down, but underneath there is a bit of bready malt character. This one is drinkable and okay, but sort of off-the-mark for the style, and has the potential to have been much better.

Brown in color with a fingernail of beige around the rim and most of the top. The aroma is of chestnuts and marzipan. It tastes malty and nutty. The mouth is lightly sticky and chewy.

Poured a clear, reddish amber color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of caramel, toffee and floral notes. Sweet, malty taste with caramel and biscuity notes.

One of the best I have had from SBC. True to the style and full flavor.

Poured from a bottle. Copper in color with a tan head. Smells of grain, malt and caramel. Nutty base for flavor with a caramel hint coming through. Good mouth feel, good flavor. Prost!
