Our coffee stout contains a blend of crystal, chocolate and roasted malts, Cascade finish hops and French Roast coffee. The result of this intriguing marriage is an intense and inviting coffee aroma combined with the earthy spiciness of Cascade hops followed by the full, rich and complex flavor of our stout.

12 oz bottle, pkgd on 12/4/19, poured into Batch 19 glass.
Has a coffee brown color with some visible ruby highlights, a bit on the light/transparent side for a stout but it's very pretty so I'll allow it. Has a nice creamy beige head of 1 finger, leaving hilly lace behind as it recedes to a creamy ring.
Aroma is earthy, with some sulfur, hot milk, and dry dirt.
Flavor brings the coffee big time, with some nice peppery creamy caramel flavors but to get to that point you must get past the wall of stabbing black peppercorns and green peppers that arrive first. This gets in the way of the enjoyment of the beer. Some remaining flavors of caramel and dry dirty cocoa are left lingering.
Feel is creamy and carbonated with a nice coffee roast and very mild heat. Carbonation is moderate to high, about right for a 5% coffee stout.
Overall, not a bad try, I think maybe the coffee was a bit too peppery in this batch. I'd love to try it again to see if the next batch of coffee helps it along.

Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It smelled of coffee, roasted malt and toffee. Nice roasty flavor with a good coffee punch. Subtle sweetness.

Pours a black color. 1/2 inch head of an off-tan color. Good retention and great lacing. Smells of roasted malt, slight sweet malt, hint of pine, lactose, hint of coffee, and a hint of alcohol. Fits the style of a Milk / Sweet Stout. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of strong roasted malt, sweet malt, lactose, slight pine, hint of alcohol, and coffee. Overall, well blended, coffee and roasted malt make it a little strong and bitter for a traditional milk stout, and a good appearance and feel.

This is a really nice beer, but is super thin. The flavor is good, but the thin mouthfeel lends itself to a somewhat watered down taste. It doesn't really pop, but was super easy to drink.

Bought cold from Mazoo's Liquor , 70 miles from the brewery. Poured into Sam Adams pint glass:
Deep dark brown brew with tan head a finger deep that took 5 minutes to fade, but left nice lacing.
Smell of Espresso, chocolate and malt. Actually reminiscent of the Mudhouse coffee shop's smell itself.
The taste enters as espresso, then fades to dark chocolate. Finishes with just a hint of sweetness that saves you from the bitter finish I expected.
Medium body, slightly creamy.
Very drinkable. As both a beer lover and a coffee fiend, I find this desirable on both fronts. Proud to give this local beer it's 10 review!

Look: Very dark, with a rich, dark khaki head. The head dissipates quite quickly.
Smell: A slight coffee aroma mingles with malts.
Taste: Malts off the bat tangle with coffee, but ultimately take over the flavor. The coffee is lacking to be an overwhelmingly good coffee stout. Fortunately, the taste is still good.
Feel: Not quite as rich or creamy as others I have had. It almost tastes a bit watery, or lacking in a creamy, rich texture that should shine in a smooth stout.
Overall: Glad I was able to pick up this 6-pack on a trip. It was pleasant sipping at best, but I'd reach for other coffee stouts over this one first.
Disclaimer: I really like coffee stouts; however, this one doesn't seem to have the coffee flavor I'm seeking.
