Pours dark amber with a small head.
Nose shows restrained hops, mainly spicy, herbal and earthy in character. The rye is probably responsibly for some of the spicy notes though. A fair bit of rich caramel and bready malt underneath.
Much hoppier flavours, lots of spicy herbal notes along with an assertive, piny bitterness. Again, plenty of caramel underneath, however there seems to be a bit of a gap between the initial hops/malt and the bitterness.
Could use a bit more carbonation.
A little disjointed but otherwise pretty decent stuff.

A - Golden amber colour, under one finger of fleeting white head, leaving strand of lacing.
S - Some grains and caramel malt to accompany the low profile hops.
T - As with the nose, the hops are not as prominent as you would expect from the name. Bitterness is very tame.
M - Medium bodied and smooth, moderate carbonation.
O - I wasnt too sure whether to categorize this as a pale ale or a rye beer, going with rye beer in the end due to the weak bitterness and faint hops. Do yourself a favour and head the 5 mins down the road to Feral for a Rye IPA.
