500ml bottle pours a cloudy pale yellow color with a decently thick but not massive cap of white-colored foam that fades down to a thin ring. Swished the last bit of beer in the bottom to get some of the settled yeast into the glass. Smells of bready malts and faintly of fruity notes. Bready malt flavor with notable wheat flavor accompanied by very light notes of fruit, honey, and spices. Medium body, basically no bitterness, extremely light herbal hop flavor, basically no sweetness, and a moderately fizzy carbonation mouthfeel.
Taste is distantly similar to a hefeweizen with that wheat flavor, but the funky-fruity flavors of the yeast are not there, so it tastes more like an American wheat beer, or maybe even a Kellerbier, a Zwickelbier, or a Helles. I think this beer was decent, but it doesn't feel particularly remarkable or unique, and I probably won't buy it again.

16.9oz bottle. Poured out a slightly cloudy, golden yellow color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left minimal lacing. It smelled of grains, bread crust and caramel. Sweet caramel and toffee taste with a toasty finish.

I picked this up after a beer tasing at a wonderful local bottleshop. I was told that this is a limited release, only sold once every 7 years. The name translates as 'The Stag'. I had a bit of a problem putting it into a style. The label says that it brewed with wheat, and it is a hazy straw color, but it does not have the typical hefe flavor profile. It is brewed with an ale yeast, but has a kellerbier feel, and more barley malt flavor than wheat twang. Till, it is an excellent and tasty German beer. Worth trying if you can get it.
