In honor of Erie’s first Brewer we name this deep roasted mahogany ale. A full bodied, nutty malt taste for those who like a mouthful!

Taster at brewpub. Dark brown, almost clear, spotty beige head. Roasty aroma, coffee. Taste adds light chocolaty notes to the roasty malts, minor coffee bitterness.

I tried this beer at the brewery. It was part of a four sample flight. It poured a clear dark amber with white head that left some lace. The scent had very malt notes with subtle nut highlights. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with malt and nut flare. The mouthfeel was lighter in body and had good carbonation. Overall it was a good beer.

A - Poured a mahogany color with a thin off white head
S - Is of sweet malt with some nutty scents
T - Starts out like the smell with nutty malt then it finishes with a bad after taste
M - This beer has a thin body with light carbonation to it
D - This was like drinking a home brew off flavors and below average for the most part

The beer pours a dark brown color with a thick frothy offwhite head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a wonderful malt scent that boasts of pale, crystal, victory, and special roast malts. It's robust with a nice nutty character. The taste is average. It has an extract beer taste. It has some roasted character, but not enough to keep me interested. It seems quite plain and watered down. The mouthfeel is average as well. It is a low bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This beer needs more body in addition to more malt character in the taste. It's way too generic.

Pours a deep dark brown and arrived with a nice thick mocha head that didn't last very long but left some sporadic spiderweb lace.
Full nose, with lots of dark chocolate, coffee, and sweet malts.
Taste: Rich chocolate nut taste with a ton of sweet malt. The sweet malts are very intense with a wonderful nutty slightly bitter and dry aftertaste.
The mouth if full and bold.
A drinkable nut brown, but the sweet malt blast could keep me from sessioning this bad boy, though it would make a tastey desert beer after a good meal.

A very flavorful nut brown was glad to have the opportunity to sample this one @ the Brewerie. Appears a dark cola brown with a light caramel tan head leaves behind even bands of lacing as it dwindles slowly. Aromatics include chocolate and nut tones with creamy sweet malt presence, also light herbal hop scent with mild coffee is all there. Flavor combines nicely but upfront are bitter coffe grounds and dark chocolate malt tones with a nutty finish and mild bitterness, good thing the herbal hop flavors comen through. Mouthfeel this one is medium bodied and very silky smooth moderate carbonation flows well. Drinkability is very nice a beer I could session with has depth to the flavor as well as a moderate abv that one put you down to quickly, a nice year round offering considering must brewpub brown ales are pretty lackluster.
