341 mL brown bottle with the D'Ham Brune label with a white sticker that says "prune" placed over it. I don't know if it has fresh or dried plums in it, as the French "prune" can mean either.
Dark brown brew with a huge and frothy tan head.
Aroma is spicy with some citrus. Sweet fruit and coffee notes are also present.
Malty backbone with lots of roasted notes. Coffee and dark chocolate with a hint of smoke. Definitely some fruitiness but I have a hard time identifying it as plums. Spicy hops balances out the beer. Aftertaste is bitter coffee with a slight tartness. Fairly dry all the way through. Alcohol is well hidden. Body is a bit thin and carbonation is moderate.
According to their website, Les Brasseurs du Hameau claim to be Canada's smallest brewery, producing around 750 liters of beer each week. I've enjoyed all of their offerings so if you see any of their products, snatch one up or who knows when you'll see them again.
