Bottle courtesy of Bobsy and his fridge! Almost bought this bottle myself when I was in Montreal, oranges in a stout sounds intriguing. Pours a promising dark brown with light tan foam.
The nose provided the first hint of what was about to rock our worlds. An oily, soapy orange escaped from the far too light malt landscape. That's all - orange dish soap.
The flavor was a full out janitor's assault. Orange urinal puck, orange dish soap, orange floor bleach. I'm not trying to be mean or slam a beer but there is little else I can do with this bottle. Light burnt malts and cheap motel coffee flavors that couldn't hold their own against the orange bathroom cleaner notes, leaving a pucker and a strong curse as the only appropriate responses.
I'd put this one on the "avoid it" list.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color ale with a small foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of roasted bitter malt with light fruity notes. Taste is also a weird mix between some bitter roasted malt with some notes of fake orange syrup. Body is a bit thin for style with too much carbonation. Weird experiment that I won't seek again.

Tasted on January 23rd, 2009.
Stout with some orange peels ?! wow intriguing.
Pours very dark with some big bubbles which suggest heavy carbonation. Something I don't like in Stout, I prefer them smooth with almost no carbonation. Nevertheless, the smell is roasted malts with some orange smell. Like I mentioned, lots of carbonation at first. Taste is roast malts with some orange in the back. Nice taste. The carbonation is decreasing with time which suggest me to let the beer sits for a couple of minutes in the glass.
