Ruddy brown pour with an effusive tan head. Good retention and some decent lace. On to the smell... The first aroma is downright bizarre - smelling strongly of a brand new rubberised kids' toy. Thankfully this drops out a little, bith in aroma and flavour, to be replaced with a fragrant breadiness with touches of caramel. The flavour is also very bready (brown), but with a distinct earthiness and extremely drying finish. As with the aroma, a strange bouquet lurks in the background. Body and carbonation are moderate.
Its a strange beer - quite drinkable, but the strange scent that haunts the aroma and the flavour stops it from hitting the top tier for me.
Thanks Zorprime for the bottle!

Received this from ZorPrime in this year's CanBIF.
First thing that happened upon opening was the beer overflowing the bottle due to excessive carbonation. Once that was under control, I poured it into a mug, where it STILL bubbled up to consume half the volume with frothy, bubbly head. Giving things a few minutes to settle down resulted in a dark reddish brown color with flecks of yeast suspended in it.
Very very faint aroma, consisting of some minor sweetness and malts.
Taste is malty, with maybe a bit of sweetness and a touch of spice. Feel still contains a decent amount of carbonation.
Besides the over-carbonation, nothing really jumps out at me. Interesting to try and drinkable if you don't have anything better, but not something I would go out of my way to drink.

Pours a golden chocolate color with ample, chunky head, with some suspended yeast clouding things up. Nice head retention. So-so lacing.
I'm struggling to find much in the aroma, mostly just bready, slightly sweet malt and earthy hops.
It's oddly tart for something brewed with sugar. Has an iron-like bitterness to it. Grainy. Bitter nuttiness. Grassy/leafy almost raw green bean or snow pea taste here that I can't quite peg. Not picking up nearly enough malt to call this a Märzen.
Mouthfeel is medium with a dry finish.
Not a great beer and an overly aggressive bitterness for the style. I'm not a fan of this beer.

Tasted on April 19th, 2009.
Beer pours as a dark amber with some haziness due to the lees. Aroma is more fruity than anything else. Maybe some malts but... I say so since there is some... not sure it is very distinguishable. Taste is good and is where I notice the malt. It is malty with very subtle bitterness. In the taste I notice some sugar note. Not bad but not sure it is related to the style.
The head is nice and sticky.
I could drink this beer all night... so drinkability is good.

Eau de puit, malt quebecois, houblon, sucre, levure.
Sucre? C'est ne pas de Reinheitsgebot?
A: Amber-copper with a bubbly, light-tan head, some retention, little lacing. Bottle-conditioned with some yeast sediment in the bottle.
S: Sweet, bready malt and a earthy hops.
T: The earthyness is a little much for my palate (and the style), hints of caramel, cocoa & nuts with a little grainy astringency. Modest bitterness.
M: Light to moderate body is over-carbonated and a little dry.
D: Okay, but below average for the style.
