This might be the most inconsistent brewer I know. Not on a batch basis but more on a beer/recipe basis. Their originality often translates into either: great, exciting beers, or strange, dirty ones.
According to the label, this one was brewed with the assnt of Délires du Terroir, so I think they might've kept them in check.
Found this in a Ham-Nord Axep, so very close to the source and am now enjoying it at the cottage, next to the fire, on the first snowy (almost snowed-in by now) week-end of the year.
Label says there are both Quebec and Belgium malt, American and Czech hops and English yeast.
A- Cloudy, honey-brown. Nice effervescence in the beigeish head.
S- What I think is their house yeast. Czech hops. Red berry which was nice and sweet then turned a bit barfy.
T- I think this tastes exactly like another beer of theirs. D'Ham Rousse or something. Maybe a bit lighter. Not sure what the American hops are but maybe Liberty or something akin to noble hops.
M- High, tingly but very smooth carbonation. Medium body but an overall, good, light feel. Moderately dry. Mouthfeel is probably this beers high point.
D- Good. Very easy to drink, refreshing. Just not such a great taste.
I'm not buying this again. But will keep buying from Brasseurs du Hameau, waiting for the masterpiece. Also waiting for them to answer the phone or door at the brewpub... what's up guys?
