Useby date is August 2016 so the following may not reflect the fresh version.
Pours pale amber into a glass from a bottle. Offwhite head is small, frothy and quick to disappate down to surface froth after a short moment.
Aroma is quite tangy on the nose with hints of sharp citrusy hops, earthy malts, yeast, cream, and burnt biscuit. It is quite a medley of robust aromas.
Flavour is very much like the nose with a dominant sweet and earthy malt character beneath vinous hops, more of that burnt biscuit, vegetative bitterness and something akin to tobacco.
Feel is as expected for an EPA, light, wet, with minimal carbonation.
I think the flavour has degraded and changed because of the passed sell-by date, but if this is a reflection of the original product then I probably wouldn't return to it. It's a bit too earthy for my tastes, with a bit of a sweet and stewed set of hops.
