500ml bottle as a Christmas gift:
A fairly clear, medium amber with a half centimetre head that's foamy & white. It's an average looking beer but the nose is sadly quite poor & boozy with a background sweetness & faint alcohol showing in the early going, not great of a 4% offering. There's a little grain & biscuit towards the middle but again it's basic & bitter tasting with some light caramel & a few faintly burnt flavours along with the expected earthy malts. The taste is very similar with hints of sweetness, faint caramel & biscuit but not a lot else & the beer is definitely too boozy for 4% one, bitter & slightly grainy with moderate carbonation but basic throughout & not worth picking up really.
