500ml bottle from a brewery gift pack:
Maroon tinged mahogany with a half centimetre, bubbly head that's beige in colour. The beer looks quite still and the head turns a little thin about thirty seconds although it’s not too bad overall. The nose lives up to expectations though, it's creamy & sweet with some chocolate & a few milky notes plus some sugars following on behind. I got a few earthy malts & a slight bitterness too without it being overly pronounced. The taste was similar with some dark malts & milk flavours, a little lactose sweetness showing, but it's not quite as creamy as the nose. There's some earthy malts & a couple of faint hops at the end too. It's definitely sweeter than expected but fairly well balanced overall, some bitterness levelling things out further on & it was a moderately carbonated offering. Decent stuff & miles better than the last I had from the brewery.
