Hazy yellow kind of pour, has that light red/pink current running through it, seems to impart cherries visually. Thin white head, 1/4". Aroma was a little boozy, mild cherry, very mild, some grain.
Taste, hot and bitter. The cherry is mild, but this seems to obscure all the hopping that goes into annularity when fresh. Annularity itself has a big difference fresh and aged, this tastes aged. Mild toasted pale malts, a heavy bitter twang replete with hot alcohol in the mouth feel.
The fresh base version is pretty much superior to this in every way. Just one of many disappointments from the Brewer's Intent series.

Pours a deep burnt orange with little to no head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, caramel, whiskey, sweet cherry. Taste is really nice. Strong caramel malts, with oak and whiskey notes and a nice touch of vanilla. Slight cherry on the back end is well incorporated. Reminded me a bit of FW DDBA. Very nice.
