Bottle #2 of 6 - Brewers' Intent 2017
We took our Trifecta Belgian Triple and allowed it to age in bourbon barrels for over 2 years. Letting this beer age for an extended period of time in bourbon barrels has allowed for a rich mature oak character. Caramel and toffee dominate the nose with a slight fruit character reminiscent of apple, peach, and apricot on the pallet. This beer finishes with a rich toffee pudding character followed by a smooth bourbon warmth. This beer is perfect to share with friends on these cool spring nights. Enjoy this beer fresh or allow it to age gracefully.

A: Poured into a snifter to a light golden orange topped by a finger and a half of dense cream colored head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of bourbony oak and toffee, fruity esters and some slightly spicy alcohol
T: Taste is chewy caramel on the front with some vanilla, oak, and general bourbon flavors from the wood. Fruity esters along with some spicy alcholol. This one tastes fairly boozy to be honest. Swallow is a huge hit of alcohol with some more fruity esters, spicy alcohol, and lingering bourbon barrel.
M: This beer is on the medium side of things when it comes to the mouthfeel which is also slightly syrupy. Carbonation is slightly prickly and the beer has a drying finish.
O: This beer showed a lot of promise but tastes like a bit of a mess. Kind of hot and boozy with the barrel really dominating the flavor profile. It gets better as it warms but overall I am not very impressed.
