something a little different in the session style here, quite a lot more malty and bitter than these usually are, this is a session beer in low alcohol content only, and i really am down with that, so many of these are just absurdly dry hopped pale two row, and here we have something with a little more substance and character, its got some nice grain depth to it, some body and a touch of sweetness, not watery at all, and definitely more built up than is common in the style now. similarly, the hops are fruity and bright, to me similar to their capa pale ale, but there is some bitterness at work here too that i think is often left out of a session type. its not intense, but its enough to help the beer finish and still drink like an actual ipa. some notes of orange peel, juniper, and resin, but not too intense to be drinkable. good carbonation keeps it light, and the low abv ensures you can make a day of it. maybe not quite as fresh and vibrantly fruity hoppy as we look for in these nowadays, but a serviceable glass of hoppy beer to be sure.
