Bottle #4 of 6 - Brewers' Intent 2017
Everything you expect from a Barleywine, with the sass of a Blonde, and then barrel-aged to perfection. This beer delivers a strong malt backbone, solid American hop character, and a subtle oak and bourbon finish. Copper in appearance with a nice aroma of citrus and caramel. On the palate you’ll find grapefruit, vanilla, caramel, and a subtle lingering hop bitterness.

A: Poured into a snifter to a deep amber color which is topped by a dense and slightly rocky finger and a half of off white head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of slightly faded citrusy hops, caramel, and sweet apple brandy
T: Taste is faded oily pine and citrus hop flavors with some caramel, bready malt, and some apple brandy barrel influence. On the finish there's more citrus and oily pine with some lingering sweetness from the barrels and caramel.
M: This beer has a body which is slightly creamy and on the heavier side. Carbonation is slightly effervescent and adequate for the style while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this is a fun beer. Nice flavors and decent complexity along with some good balance.
