Bottle #5 of 6 - Brewers' Intent 2017
Dark roasted coffee is apparent on both the nose and the palate, with hints of vanilla coming through on the finish. As the beer opens up, the nibs provide a rich bakers chocolate adding to the complexity of flavor.

A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer topped by a finger and a half of dense light tan head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of coffee, vanilla, a little chocolate, and some oak barrel goodness.
T: Taste is a lot of coffee up front followed by some nice vanilla notes, chocolate and roasted malts come in toward the back along with some oak and a slight caramel note. Swallow is more coffee and vanilla with a lot of wood, roasted malts and chocolate carry things through to the end.
M: This beer is on the heavier side of medium with a smooth mouthfeel that's slightly creamy. The beer has soft carbonation that is adequate for the style while the beer has a slightly dry finish
O: Overall this is a great beer with some nice flavors and a good bit of complexity. Very well crafted and one of the best porters I've had in recent memory. I would put it on par with BA Victory at Sea.
