A: Poured into a snifter to a deep orange beer which is slightly hazed. The beer is topped by a dense and slightly rocky finger of off white head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of honey sweetness, earthy hops with a little pine oil and some tequila barrel notes
T: Taste is honey sweetness, earthy hops, hints of tequila barrel, bready malts, hints of pine, and a touch of caramel. on the swallow there's some tequila barrel, pine and earthy hops, honey and caramel sweetness with some more pale malt flavor.
M: This beer has a moderate amount of heft with a creamy feel on the palate. Carbonation is adequate and sits just below being prickly while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this is an interesting beer. It has some good flavors and some nice things going on for sure. The complexity is there and everything is well incorporated which makes it fairly easy to drink. This is probably the best exercise in tequila barrel aging that I've tried. Well done.

this is unique and brilliant beer, a honey based strong ale with tangerine aged in tequila barrels, sounds weird, but the execution is flawless, and i really really dug this one. its got a little more color to it than i expected, a shade of red i dont often see in my glass, nice frothing white head on it too from the bottle, well carbonated for sure, helps keep it lighter drinking than it should be at this strength and flavor complexity. the honey is immediately obvious, which is what i was hoping for, its sweet sure, but its also floral and citrusy and interesting, really loaded in here, above even the grain to me, i really like that aspect of it, how forward the honey is, its awesome. the tangerine part is light, i think it plays well with the honey, but its non intrusive for the most part. the tequila is more there in aroma than flavor for me, it smells like it might be too much, but its better integrated in the flavor, oaky and earthy, raw and fleshy and fresh tasting, like agave itself, i think thats also really nice with the honey. the wood mellows this well, and the honey extends it, but it sure doesnt drink like 11% abv, even with a little warmth and the residual sugar, its not heavy to me, its not overdone or too much. really compelling beer overall, they got this exactly right, the boldness of the honey is memorable. i hope to encounter this one again, really unique strong ale overall!

Great balance between ale, honey, and tequila barrel. Poured into sifter with lite head, amber ale look. Recommend drinking slowly to let the beer warm to room temperature. Honey notes are prominent, followed by plenty of tequila barrel.
