A: Poured into a snifter to a deep ruddy brown topped by a dense and slightly rocky finger of light tan head which fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of slightly roasted malts, molasses and a hint of raisin. there's some bitter dark chocolate and espresso in here as well.
T: Taste is molasses and toasted malts up front with some slight maple, caramel, a little coffee and dark chocolate. Slight hint of raisin but not much. On the swallow there's more lightly roasted malts, chocolate, and coffee.
M: This beer is on the lighter side of medium in body. Carbonation is effervescent and almost touches on being prickly while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this is a pretty nice beer. It has some great flavors and some decent complexity. It's a little adjunct forward but the base beer still brings some stuff to the party. I'm not sure if this really tastes quite like what I anticipated since the raisin is very muted but what is here is a pleasant drink.

Had on tap. It is like they made a beer with all the elements of oatmeal raisin cookies: raisin, oat, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, semi-sweet chocolate, in addition of toffee, bourbon, wood, coffee and other baking spices. The result though is not sweet or cookie like, rather a complex salad of all of these flavors, all present but not melding much. Smell is much more enjoyable in this regard. Barrel is a bit hot, but feel is complex, smooth and sneaky bright given all the dark elements. A binding agent could go a long way here
