looks beautiful on the pour. nice color and bubbles. smell is a little musty, but not so much in the flavor. feels a little thin. but damn these are consistently great brews! after some more sips, the mustiness has left and i am left impressed in how well this has held up. very thin, but very delicious!

Had laid this down to age a year, and the results were beautiful. Typical eclipse appearance, but the nose was so rich in character: rye, wood, whiskey, molasses, honey, dark fruit, leather, roasted malt, and earth. Taste lets the rye, wood, and whiskey star, but never gets unbalanced in booze, bitterness or the honey sweetness. Great cocoa, coffee, earth, leather, smoke, and whiskey bitters supporting. Feel is chewy, warm, dry, rustic, wood and rye laden, and very smooth. Best eclipse in a long time! The wife liked it

Knob Creek Rye Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout from Eclipse is an impressive stout, and I am pretty sure those who like whiskey and bourbon flavored stouts would love it. As for me, if it is a whiskey/bourobon flavored stout I prefer the bourbon flavor to be mild. This stout had a lot of bourbon flavor. Despite me preferring it to have been milder I think it was a great stout.
Look: Black with a thick fluffy mocca colored head
Aroma: roasted malts, mild coffee, bourbon
Flavor: hint of coffee, maybe some vanilla, and a very significant amount of bourbon/whiskey flavor.
Feel: medium to full body and very drinkable

Another great pour of Eclipse at the 2018 Eclipse party last night. Standard jet black, good but not over the top viscousness, dark brown head 2/3" on this one. Aroma had a lighter sweeter edge to it than some of the other new bourbon varieties they were using.
Taste was back to being a strong dose of whiskey here, but seemingly had less of a charred barrel than others, came off more like a traditional non bourbon whiskey if anything. Nice it could separate itself from the pack I guess. While it was still a good fun drink, it didn't really approach that level where I considered paying $22 for a bottle of it. Had a slap of vanilla to it in the mouth feel. Wasn't hot, but it was strong. Something I'd be far more likely to pay for on draft than an entire bottle. Its not a legendary Eclipse, but its also still pretty good. Its a bit of a lighter wood, sweeter barrel impact overall than the other bourbons I found, had more in common with those old rye barrels they would use (green wax).
