Had this at the Eclipse party in December 2018. This one reminded me a little bit of Splinter Black.
Anyways, pours the usual mixture of super dark brown and black, with brown head 1/3" on the top. The aroma was definitely bourbon barrel and wood. I dunno if its just the namesake playing tricks on me, but this really did seem to have double the amount of oak.
Taste, whooo, of all the Eclipse beers I have ever had (and that is a lot), this is the "woodiest" of them all and instantly made me think of Splinter Black (although not quite reaching that level of liquid toothpicks). Really made me think if this is a bourbon barrel and virgin oak barrel. Is it morning? Because there is so much wood. Otherwise, you have all the usual suspects in an Eclipse beer lined up right behind it. Chocolate, roasted malt etc. . .; Mouthfeel is that woodiness and appropriate carbonation all the way around.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
