You know who the only dude to be at every Eclipse party is? Me neither ;) First review of this beer on BA.

Anyways, this was the "party" bottle for 2019. They also had it on draft at the main bar for the night of the party. Total redemption here, after some below average bottles the last 2 years.

Anyways, pours the same black/dark brown color, I notice that on tap they all look super similar compared to different variants in the bottle. Aroma, I could notice the strawberry. The chocolate/vanilla thing didn't stand out any more than they do in the Eclipse variants that have those smells from non adjunct sources (barrel, malt).

Taste caught all of the adjuncts without abandoning the core Eclipse brand. They really showcased in the mouthfeel, smoother prolly bc of the vanilla, but while smoother, it isn't super sweet. Just a little bit of strawberry covered chocolate melding with a mild bourbon presence. Wood has to take a back seat on this one. Roasted malt gives way in the presence department to a smoothed out waffle cone like ice cream of the aforementioned name.

While pastry stouts have been done all over the place, this one really dials it in without overshadowing what makes ya love Eclipse in the first place.
