flavorful and good, simple but not bland, they get a lot out of this european type pils malt, the hops are subtle but present for balance, and the yeast is old worldy, nice and cold and crisp, and i found this to be a fine companion to spicy food, as well as heavier fried type stuff, real refreshing and palate cleansing, could fill the role of a mindless yellow drinker, but has more character than most of those and does not present as cheap to me. the pour is headless when it arrives at our table where i had this, but i do not blame the beer, golden and just off from perfect clarity, lots of bubbles throughout. the aroma is muted when cold but opens to familiar bready territory, crackery and simple, a little doughy with the yeast, presents as fresh and adjunct free to me, clean but somewhat subtle overall. bready in the flavor too, definitely european to me, some middle palate sweetness, a light floral element to the hops before the bitterness, and good water chemistry for the style, refreshing without being too light, and to me definitely enhanced by the asian food im enjoying this with. been too long since i had anything from these guys, and while this isnt what they are known for, its up to their high quality standards and it hit the mark. basic but good, would love to try it in packaged form as well...

You've probably seen the Chik-Fil-A ads with the cow(s) & the tagline, "Eat Mor Chiken", right? Well, it is my belief that we should "Drink More Pilsners!" The only problem is that they run scarcer than plain Lagers & it becomes a rare CANQuest (tm) moment to actually find a new one. You CAN imagine my elation, during my latest Beer & Beverage Shoppe run, upon finding this gem!
From the CAN: "Established 2007 * Truckee, California"; "A Classic Pilsner"; "Lake Tahoe's premier Czech-style Lager. Crisp, refreshing, and clean."
It seemed really odd to only have a 12-fl oz CAN, but pints are the new norm. I beCAN by
Crack!ing open the vent to start a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into my favorite Pilsner glass, washed, rinsed & ready for action. Everything came off without a hitch & I allowed it to gently flow into the glass, creating two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with surprisingly good retention. Color was Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity, prompting CANother impromptu visit from The Gelt Gang of Croesus, Mammon & Midas, all clamoring for a taste. Sheesh. Nose was just about perfect - it smelled of freshly-mown grass, drying hay, baking bread or biscuits, all highly evocative of Summers spent at my maternal grandparents' house, laying in the grassy upper lot as PapPap ran the lawnmower, Grummy put her baked goods from the oven on the windowsill to cool & I read comic books. Ah, youth! Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, about standard for a Lager-style beer. The taste was truly grassy with a dry biscuity malt backbone. Give me a Czech/Boho Pilsner any day of the week! Especially a fresh(er) domestic micro. I CAN drink the s**t out of Pilsner Urquell, but I'd prefer something more local, if California CAN be CANsidered "local". Finish was pleasantly dry with a lingering crispness that would be great on a hot, humid Summer's day. YMMV.

Can't believe I was only 6 minutes behind the addition of this beer to BA. Been drinking this one a lot the last few months. You wanna talk about a lager flying under the radar? Here you go. This is the best shit outside of Bierstadt.
Pours the standard for pils, yellow, tons of clarity, almost a full inch of pristine snow like white head. Did I mention the label is super classical Tahoe sexy? Great retention. The aroma is super lager yeasty. I'm a big fan of Euro lager skunk, this just does it without the skunk, but its ok, the rest of you will like it more that way. Its pretty pungent though, in a good way.
Taste has that sulphuric yeast alongside a dry mouthfeel of two row and pilsner malt on the back end. Appropriate noble like hopping providing a level of bitterness that is entirely appropriate. Its flavor country. I buy more of this beer before I run out. Its become a staple. Hell, I bought more Tahoe Pils after the Eclipse party than I did Eclipse, and I love Eclipse. This is just super enjoyable to drink at $10/6 pack. Highly recommended.

Clear, light gold body; excellent carbonation; thick, soapy head with a sticky frothiness. Outstanding cracker aroma with an initial dose of hop spiciness; very clean smelling. Pleasant light malt taste; cracker and biscuit with some fine hop bitterness. Medium-light body; crisp; a touch of residual sugar sweetness but ultimately has a semi-dry mouthfeel.
This beer delivers excellent balance and depth for a pilsner. It exudes a fine, soft malt presence and pleasant hop bitterness. Very tasty...
