First and foremost, a tip of the hat to the best football voice of all time, Keith Jackson, and his catchphrase "Whoa Nellie" rock this beer out. Had this at the Sierra Nevada Single, Fresh, Wet and Wild Festival in Chico, CA.
Has an appearance similar to 5050's CAPA. Its golden and slightly cloudy with 1/3" white head. The aroma I think was Nelson, but they weren't anywhere near as pungent as even the most average hopped Nelson beer. Not sure.
Taste to me was questionable that this was a single hop, there was just a different kind of bitterness and taste than what the nose was putting out. I'm just spitballing here, but it had the smell and taste of something like Nelson and El Dorado. But I'm wrong somewhere, because this was listed as a single hop beer, but for me, the taste was not like a single hop beer, perhaps this was a dual use hop, but I digress. And that kind of accurately summarizes 5050 for me, sometimes their hoppy beers are really good, and then sometimes they're head scratchers of "what happened?" and this was more the latter than the former.
