Holy shit, the dark fruits in this one! I love the Eclipse series, how different each variant is from the others, how consistent each variant is from year to year, and how quality the overall line is. This one is truly unique in terms of the fruit qualities, which adds an additional sweetness and lightness that is very different than the other more bourbon-forward offerings. Really a differentiated drinking experience. High quality stuff, in line with the others.

2020 Vintage
Appearance: Very dark brown bordering on black with a generous sized, thick, beige head that slowly faded. A nice looking imperial Stout.
Smell: Moderate Bourbon aromas, moderate coffee/roasted malt aromas, brown sugar and mild vanilla notes.
Taste: Bourbon notes, moderate roasted malts, brown sugar, faint vanilla and tannic oak notes. The flavor elements play well together and while the beer is moderately sweet the roasted malts and tannic oak notes dry the beer out a bit. at 11.4% ABV the alcohol is fairly mild.
Mouth-feel: On the light side of medium bodied with a fairly generous level of carbonation. not the thickest stout in the world but not a bad mouthfeel in this beer.
Overall: Another excellent Eclipse variant. Elijah Craig 14 must be one great bourbon as the Bourbon notes came off very refined and tasty in this beer. All of the Elijah Craig Eclipse variants have been top notch beers for my tastes.
