BBA stout with maple syrup, lactose, cinnamon, vanilla.
Does not pour with much head.
Nose is not strong some dark chocolate, lactose, dark malt.
Flavor profile is more complex with roasted malt upfront, cinnamon spice an a hint of lactose. The maple syrup and vanilla sweetness come through for the finish as the cinnamon continues to be somewhat dominant.
I like a good spiced stout and this is very good. It is also interesting how the sweetness doesn't come in until the finish as the bitterness fades. This brew isn't too sweet, cloying, or overbearing, but it doesn't quite live up to my expectations for the eclipse series.
