On tap at John's in PDX the other day.
The beer pours the expected blackish brown color with pretty good head retention and lacing. On the nose I pick up vanilla, light licorice, coffee and dark chocolate... Arguably, the beer smells a bit like Tiramisu I guess. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely in this moderately sweet beer, though I though the licorice a bit more prominent than expected and there seemed to be a light ash flavor as well. Mouthfeel was medium bodied to full, and you can tell the abv. isn't super high in this beer (unlike some of the other BA eclipse offerings). Alcohol was pretty well integrated into the flavor profile, but even so, I didn't feel as if drinkability was this beer's strong suit.
This is a decent RIS offerings from 50/50 brewing, but I found it a bit of a disappointment after sampling so many of their BA eclipse versions Frankly, I was surprised to learn that this beer saw any barrel aging (the BA character is not very prominent in this beer). Not sure this a beer I need to visit again any time soon.

This is a good beer. Thst being said, I agree with the rater before me. It's my least favorite of the eclipse series. Was expecting more complexities from the Rum and Bourbon barrels but they seem to cancel each other out. Not bad by any means, but not up to par with what I'm used to.

22 oz bomber into a snifter
Well, I’ve reviewed a ton of these, and since they use the same base stout for each variety, only need to touch on the differences. Unfortunately, this is the worst Eclipse yet. More like a coffee stout than a decadent, tiramisu-inspired barrel-aged stout. It’s like they took their delicious finished Eclipse and watered it down with brewed coffee. Viscosity is way down, as is the ABV. Hard to detect the bourbon and vanilla that should be prominent. Not a bad beer to drink, but total miss given the expectations.
