This is the first review of Baker's Eclipse (2019) here at this Next Glass owned database, albeit almost six years later!
So 99% of all Eclipse beers have that super sexy dark appearance that is super reliable no matter what barrel it goes into or comes out of. This is no different, jet black, brown head 2/3" deep. A sight to behold. The aroma hits the typical deep, dark chocolate (baker's chocolate? but no, the Baker's bourbon brand) and bourbon nose.
Taste could practically be a grand cru of all the bourbon barrels they've ever used, just hits in that classic Eclipse form, dark chocolate, bourbon, lightly charred oak. Are you going to drink this blind and be like "oh man, that's the Baker's from 2019? Probably not, but it will clearly avail itself as a bourbon barrel Eclipse, the light and dry back end, the lush dark front end. It does everything right without reinventing the Eclipse wheel. Just another solid choice of barrel and excellence of execution with a tip of the hat to Bret Hitman Hart.
