Eclipse! Amazingly, this is the 30th variant of this bloody beer I’ve had, this coming in a 16 oz. can.
The pour is black with only a thinly attended series of bubble lectures. I haven’t had many big beers with this weak an aroma. Very thin vanilla & bourbon. Barely.
Imperial Eclipse Stout – Vanilla Coconut isn’t a stellar addition to the portfolio. Big underlying roast of the base beer dominates, meaning it consumes about 88% of the flavor profile. The coconut & vanilla are faint afterthoughts, the bourbon more of a throat burn & bitterness than actual flavor. Splitting this can with my wife was the right call.
An expensive stout that lacks much of what’s promised on the can, so it gets knocked down. If this were in $14 six packs it’d be a different story. Decent.

Drank as part of a beer tasting with Ron. Not sure about the price. Cool bottle, neat cap. Consumed on 04/15/23, review from notes.
A&S: The appearance of the beer is jet black and thick when poured. It has good lacing and an amazing tan head. The aroma is not much upfront before it warms, just alcohol. When it does warm, it is still very faint but contains vanilla and bourbon.
T&M: Huge vanilla tones even while it is cold. The coconut comes through more as it warms. Not a highly dimensional beer, but really good nonetheless. The alcohol taste fits the ABV. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. FiftyFifty does mouthfeel so well.
Overall: Hard to say how worth it is without knowing the price, but I thought it was an above-average beer and worth a try.
