I do believe this will be my last entry from the 2022 dipa festival (aside from the selection Canyon Lakes in CA which I've tried to add to the database for over 1 year now, Untappd, do you see this struggle here?).
Pours a brilliant clear golden color, bright, great clarity, 1/2" virgin white head. The aroma smacks of CTZ and Simcoe, but who knows. I guess because I got mostly a piney weed like assemblage here.
The taste brought a west coast suitcase to accompany the west coast appearance. Seems to definitely be a Simcoe/C hop cross to amplify the brisk, crisp, pine like notes. The malt bill is fitting, minimal and light. The bitterness is proud and firm, but not excessive, I would guess 70ibu, made 8.5% still pretty easy to pound down. I dunno, go with a guess of CTZ, Simcoe, Centennial kind of hop vibe. I heard it may have been a collaboration with Kern River. Breweries on rivers. Or right next to them at least. I wonder if we'll see this one packaged, it popped up and went away like there was only 5 gallons of it, but it seems very re-creatable. You weren't always on my mind, but I do harken back sometimes. Baby.
