Lightly cloudy, copper colored body; dense, lively carbonation; thick, frothy head, bone white, sculpted and lasting appearance. Light note of white oak and old citrus smells. Pleasant enough taste; fruity with gin tones; some tropical fruit-like esters dancing around in the background; semi-dry white wine. Heavy body; smooth yet with a bit of juicy effervescence.
I see no bottle dating info, but I'm also sure that I've seen this beer on the shelves for a number of years now. The brewery's web site certainly doesn't offer any info about this beer. That said, it still a pleasant beer to drink. The gin barrel component is balanced and adds a nice twist to the kölsch base. There is also faint traces of the purported lemon and vanilla in the taste if one squints the mind-muscle hard enough.
Pouring temperature: 43 °F; bottling info: n/a
