Here's a bit of a rarity, me doing an Eclipse review in 2025. I'd suggest, the man who has been to every Eclipse party, has probably more reviews on this Next Glass owned website, than anyone else of the Eclipse varieties. Not sure if I'm bragging or ashamed. But this is also your first review of this beer for said corporate owners and overlords.
Anyhoo, pours black. Looks like pretty much every other Eclipse, and that is a good thing. 2/5" tan head on top. Aroma has a stronger than average amount of whiskey to it. I'm thinking plenty wet barrels from the other side of the Truckee River. Usual fudge chocolate note behind it.
Continued smooth, lightly sweet notes of whiskey. Yes, dark chocolate. Leather, tanning, roastiness apparent, but body viscous wise is nice, not overly thick. Very smooth mouthfeel. Not really grasping the abv, hiding it quite well. This is quite the gem of recent years. I believe they have continued to make it, I've blown through several bottles since the party.
