FiftyFifty is already in my personal HallofFame, with 20+ excellent stouts reviewed, so I’m happy to pick up nearly anything they dip in barrels. Including this 16 oz. can.
The pour was won by the stout in this mix, dark, with a slight, profound ring of bubbles. Smells like, well, beer. Nothing notable at all.
3X BART is akin to liquid caramel. Well, with a side bump of bourbon, of course. The ABV is tasted, early & repeatedly, as the evening develops into something quite pleasant (plus, the Twins won & snapped a five game losing streak…the first of many in 2026 I’m afraid). Massive caramel, strong barrels, a little vanilla. Less complex than imagined. Still. The big can go down easy, mate.
Nothing like some of the legendary stouts, but still a very good brew.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a relatively thin black (probably from the tripel) with minimal head. The nose is full of bourbon, toffee, slight note of tripel, and honey. This is super boozy on the nose.
The taste is really nice. Dang. Lots of bourbon. The ABV is not hidden, that's for sure. Honey, brown sugar, toffee, and plums. It's really tough to pick out the barleywine, stout, and tripel on this one. Definitely minimal stout. I would say that barleywine and tripel are dominant, which I wouldn't have expected. Lovely.
The mouthfeel is light to medium, with a boozy bourbon aftertaste.
