A refreshing blend of orange, tangerine and smooth vanilla combine with a creamy mouthfeel to produce a true flavor classic in this latest Alewerks Double IPA. Irreverently dry-hopped with loads of Mandarina Bavaria, Citra, Mosaic and vanilla beans. Smooth and aromatic, it’s sure to tempt.

From the can, it pours a slightly hazy amber with a large, thick, long lasting head. In the nose, it is citrus, some orange, some vanilla, with a touch of malt. In the mouth, it is pleasantly malty with some citrus. Nice!

Canned on 9/18/2018, so getting toward the end of its "life span" as an IPA. Pours a dark gold with a billowy white head. Heavy citrus and tropical fruit aroma that follows into the palate. Candy-like finish with a sweet bitterness. Medium-bodied and easy to enjoy. Another solid offering from Alewerks.

From the bottom: "CANNED ON 09/18/18"
Appearance: The beer has a medium-dark shade of amber that is slightly hazy. It has a large fluffy white head with excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma: It has a light mango scent that pops up as soon as you get near the glass but then it goes right away and doesn't leave anything behind. When it's around it smells good though.
Taste: It has a bit of a woody flavor to it, like the vanillin from oak and a touch of spice, similar to nutmeg and a hint of cinnamon. There is a good amount of grapefruit and orange pulp flavor. There are a good number of flavors here but they are mellow.
Mouthfeel: It has a body that floats on the upper side of light, a bitterness that rests on the lower side of medium, and has average carbonation. The beer as a whole melds very nicely together.
Overall: The can states that this is "BREWED WITH VANILLA & MANDARINA BAVARIA." It does have a noticeable vanilla flavor but it doesn't taste like vanilla bean, but rather what is imparted by wood. Overall it has a memorable flavor and it is enjoyable to drink. I would buy it again and I would recommend it.

Poured a cloudy, copper-orange body with minimal head and little lace patches. The aroma can be summed up as hoppy and "vanilla-y". Smooth, medium-bodied beer, floral hoppy bitterness with a vanilla sweetness and then fuller finish thanks to a sweet finish that can be ascribed to vanilla and some tropical fruit hop tastes as well.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had an orange-ish color and a hazy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.
S: A solid aroma of hops, citrus fruit, malt, vanilla, and tropical fruit.
T: Tasted of a small amount of malt (mostly in the finish), a good amount of vanilla, some hops (not too much, though), lots of citrus fruit (orange, mainly) and a little tropical fruit (passsion fruit). Definitely a fruit-centric flavor, with the citrus doing most of the work. It plays well with the vanilla, but the hops give it a nice kick. Pretty tasty.
F: A decent amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: A rock solid DIPA. Worth a look.
