375ml bottle poured into a goblet

A- pours a clear deep amber color with a one-finger foamy off-white head that reduces to leave a ring around the glass

S- malty caramel and toffee initially, with complimenting aromas of brown sugar, vanilla, whipped cream, nutmeg, clove and pumpkin pie filling. Barrel undertones add wet wood and a peppery rye note to close it out

T- sweet and malt up front with notes of caramel, vanilla cream and brown sugar. Mid-palate brings out some lively pumpkin and spice notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, a hint of clove, even some creamy pie filling. The finish really starts to bring out the barrel, with a noticeable peppery/spicy rye note popping through, before notes of oak and more vanilla close it out. Lingers of cinnamon, caramel and oaky rye

M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns into a slightly creamy, warming finish

O- a welcomed barrel aged addition to one of my favorite pumpkin beers. The rye barrel is quite noticeable and works well with the other ingredients

Appearance: Pours a clear amber color with a one finger head; decent retention and a few dots of lacing

Smell: The Rye Whiskey envelopes the pumpkin and spice with each element detectable

Taste: Pumpkin forward, with the cinnamon, allspice, ginger and clove emerging; the Rye Whiskey builds to a crescendo, after the swallow, with the spicy rye tones complementing the pumpkin spice tones into the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; warmth in the gullet

Overall: Much moreso than the Rum version, the Rye really goes well with the pumpkin base beer
