A hardy, yet sessionable Dark Lager, mostly of Dark Munich Malt. This brings aromatics and flavors of toasted black bread, toffee, caramel and coffee cake.

First, the visual. It's almost black coffee brown and after the pint can was emptied entirely into a clear glass liter mug, a generous tan head was produced. Bright in color, yet almost opaque it is. Although not pronounced, there's an aroma of roasted malt and some hops, basically in that order. Malty sweet, but not too much so, up front, the taste is nice. But nice doesn't necessarily mean great. There's nothing to dislike here, especially when judging it within the parameters of its style. The hopping is just flavorful enough, the hops add some taste without extra bitterness, as does the roasted malts. This is much better than a typical lager, but the depths and complexity of its taste are naturally limited by the style. Even for a lager, the mouthfeel runs a bit thinly. There's some glass lacing, but nothing to rave about. Overall, it's pleasant, but not tasty, nor luxurious enough to seek.
