Deep black color with a caramel thick head with great retention.
Aroma with notes of licorice, coffee, cocoa, currants, caramel and mild lactic acid.
Flavor with notes of creamy chocolate, roasted coffee beans, plums, tons of licorice, some pine, caramel and cassis. Dry and bitter aftertaste. It feels a lower than its 70 IBUs.
Full body with carbonation of tiny bubbles. Alcohol of 8% is well-hidden.
Balanced Imperial Stout with good malt complexity and lots of dark fruits. It feels as one small step behind a Black IPA.

L - Pours dark with some clarity. Not the pitch black of a traditional American Imperial Stout.
S - Aromas burnt sugar and chocolate with an underlying earthiness.
T - Lots of carmel and dark chocolate, and the earthiness is a little more woodsy.
F - Fairly light for an Imperial Stout. Mouthfeel is more what you'd expect from a Porter.
O - A great beer that I'm glad I was able to experience, but I'd love to see more body on it.
