12oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sudsy rings of lace. It smelled of chocolate, vanilla and caramel. Very sweet tasting with chocolate, caramel and vanilla.

12 oz single bottle into Ploughshare glass.

Pours pretty darn black from the bottle which forms sort of a chocolate brown-black body in the glass with a khaki finger of head, leaving lace where it has receded to a ring.

Aroma brings some dirty black coffee and some metallic roast, with hints of vanilla and hot chocolate further back.

Flavor brings metallic water, some ground coffee mixed with lots of blood, then some perfume and lactose. Some very faint vanilla flavoring (think cake) creeps up towards the end. A pervasive sour grapefruit note (odd, though not infection) also accompanies everything throughout the profile.

Feel is medium bodied, quite roasty, no alcohol heat (good thing), an appropriate carbonation level, and a bit of coffee bite on the finish.

Overall, I nearly bought a 6 pack of this right off the bat when I saw it, based on how much I liked the Red Velvet version. I'm very glad I didn't. It is not unfinishable, but it is a bit of a chore sipping a goblet of blood. I suppose I've had a lot of dessert stouts including Tiramisu beers so there's a long list of leap frog this beer would have to get over to impress me, but this wasn't even at the starting gate.

Perhaps this year's batch was significantly worse than batches prior, as I see there's a lot of reviews in the 4's here.

Regardless, a poor beer and not a revisit for me.

Price paid : $1.79 / bottle
Would buy again : No

Brau Brothers Tiramisu Moo Joos, 5.8% ABV. Pours black with a nice two finger tan head that left no lacing. Nose is an incredible amount of chocolate, plus vanilla and lactose, taste follows with some sweetness and no bitterness. Decent mouthfeel, if slightly over-carbonated. Overall outstanding. This is their best stout that I've had so far.

Tiramisu Moo Joos pours a black color with a big tan head. There is a big and bold aroma filled with huge espresso notes. The taste is big bold, very creamy, and has strong notes of espresso and heavy cream, especially as the beer warms up. Good flavors, but the body is just a little watery. Overall, big flavors, big espresso flavors.

Poured from a firkin at the Brau Bros taproom into a snifter.
Comes a deep, dark brown with a narrow head that quickly dissolves to a thin layer of foam and some persistent lacing on the glass.

The smell is wonderful: Vanilla and coffee and chocolate. A delight to take in.

This is their regular beer, Moo Joos, flavored with vanilla and coffee beans and tastes awesome. Loads of vanilla up front, but not too sweet. That's backed up by a punch of roast coffee, some chocolate and a hint of dark fruit. There is a lingering roast coffee bitterness. As the beer warms, there is even a more pronounced coffee flavor.

The mouthfeel is nice an creamy with just a little carbonation.

Overall, this is a wonderful brew that I wish was available at my local liquor store. Alas, it may have been a one-shot deal. It was a very tasty treat!
