Completely transparent copper-orange body poured into a swanky pint glass by a cute brunette bartender free of charge. Beautiful color and wonderful carbonation. Head is confined to lacing and though thin, it is sticky and pretty. Sadly this was served extremely cold and I had to wait for a long time for it to warm up to the point where I could smell anything. Ultimately, I still found the nose disappointing. Pine sap and grapefruit mostly but light on both accounts. One really has to dive right in to pick up much of an aroma. Flavor is a bit of a different story. Light caramel malts and biscuit yeasts are present but constantly bedeviled by ruby-red grapefruit. Bitterness is extreme and unbalanced. Hop heads will love the feel of this even if the aroma isn’t all there. Light bodied and effervescent. Dry and biting finish. Really, really bitter.
