La Petrognola "Tambura APA"
€6 / pint @ The Hidden Pub, Firenze, IT
Notes: Brewed with locally grown spelt (AKA farro). Slightly hazy golden body beneath a standard-sized head of white foam. Average to better than average head retention. OK lacing. The aroma is grassy and citrusy over a grainy and biscuity malt base. The flavor brings in a touch of caramel malt and a hint of honey-like sweetness. Median bitterness at around 35 IBUs. It finishes grainy, herbal, and lightly citrusy. Medium bodied and crips with a standard carbonation level. Not a bad pint but hardly an "American" pale ale as it definitely has a European twist to it.
